Unix Timestamp
Convert epoch seconds or milliseconds to a date and back.
Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent or stored.
Good to know
Unix time counts the seconds since January 1, 1970, 00:00 UTC. Many APIs return milliseconds, which is three digits more. The tool detects both.
The conversion to local time uses your browser's time zone.
Frequently asked questions
Seconds or milliseconds?
Numbers with 13 or more digits are read as milliseconds, shorter ones as seconds.
Why does the local time differ?
The local display follows your device's time zone, including daylight saving time. UTC always stays the same.
What about the year 2038?
Systems that store Unix time in 32 bits overflow on January 19, 2038. This tool calculates with 64 bits.
