Privacy policy

This English version is a courtesy translation. The German version is legally binding.

The protection of your personal data is important to us. We process your data exclusively on the basis of the statutory provisions (GDPR (DSGVO), Telecommunications Act 2003 (TKG 2003)). In this privacy notice, we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing in connection with our website.

1. Name and Contact Details of the Controller

Pixel & Process UG (haftungsbeschränkt) Marliring 74 23566 Lübeck Germany E-mail: info (at) pixelandprocess.de Telephone: +49 (0) 172 8643008

2. Collection and Processing of Data

a) Visiting the Website

When you visit our website, information of a general nature is collected automatically. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider and similar data. This is exclusively information that does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about you personally. This information is technically necessary to deliver the website content you have requested correctly and is inevitably generated when using the internet. It is processed in particular for the following purposes:

  • ensuring a smooth connection to the website,
  • ensuring smooth use of our website,
  • evaluating system security and stability, and
  • for other administrative purposes.

The processing of your personal data is based on our legitimate interest in the above-mentioned purposes of data collection. We do not use your data to draw conclusions about you personally. The only recipients of the data are the controller and, where applicable, processors.

b) Contact Form

If you contact us by e-mail or via the contact form, the information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your enquiry and for any follow-up questions. A valid e-mail address is required in order to respond to your enquiry. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

c) Cookies, local storage and consent

We only use technologies for audience measurement if you consent. On your first visit our consent banner asks for your choice. You can pick “Accept all” or “Necessary only”, or decide per category. Both options carry equal weight, and declining has no drawbacks for using the website.

Categories:

  • Necessary: We store your decision in your browser's local storage (entry “pp-consent”, valid for 180 days). Without it we would have to ask you again on every page view. Legal basis: Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  • Statistics: Audience measurement with Umami (see d). Only loaded after you consent. Legal basis: Section 25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

We do not use marketing cookies or advertising trackers.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of the website. Withdrawal applies to the future. You can also delete cookies and local data in your browser settings. We ask again after 180 days or when something changes.

d) Umami Analytics

With your consent we use Umami, a privacy-friendly open-source web analytics tool, to understand how our website is used and to improve it. The analytics script is loaded from analytics.pixelandprocess.de, a server under our control.

What does Umami do differently?

  • No cookies: Umami does not set cookies to recognise visitors.
  • No IP addresses: IP addresses are not stored.
  • No cross-site tracking: Umami does not track you across different websites and does not build profiles.
  • Self-operated: The collected data stays on our infrastructure and is not passed on to third parties.

What data does Umami collect?

  • Pages visited and page views
  • Referring website (referrer)
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Device type (desktop, tablet, mobile)
  • Screen resolution
  • Browser language
  • Approximate location (country only, derived from the IP address; the IP address itself is not stored)

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG). Without consent the script is not loaded and no statistics data is collected. You can withdraw your consent at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. After that the script is no longer loaded.

You can find more information about Umami at: umami.is/docs

e) Fonts

The fonts (Hanken Grotesk and Space Mono) are downloaded by us when the website is built and served from our own server. No connection to Google or other font providers is made when you visit the website.

3. Your Rights

As a data subject, you generally have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, withdrawal of consent and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have otherwise been infringed in any way, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Germany, this is the competent state data protection authority.

4. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy so that it always complies with current legal requirements, or to reflect changes to our services in the privacy policy, e.g. when introducing new services. The new privacy policy will then apply to your next visit.
